WHO WE ARE
Cardiac Community Advocacy and Support Initiative (CAC/IT/NO 148813) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization committed to fighting cardiovascular diseases in Nigeria (CVD). We engage in supporting the fight against CVDs through health awareness campaigns via online platforms and public outreach programs.
We equally provide emotional and physiological assistance with the help of our support groups as well as financial aid through fundraising for patients who can’t afford to pay for health services.
Cardiac Community was founded in 2018 by Ayotunde Omitogun shortly after being diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension; a rare deadly disease that affects the lungs and heart. Her condition emanated as a result of an untreated congenital heart defect. She founded Cardiac Community to raise the necessary awareness of pulmonary hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases in Nigeria and also providing support to people living with such conditions.
Heart disease is the number one killer and cause of disability worldwide and 80 percent of heart disease related deaths happen in developing nations. Our goal is to change the narrative around heart diseases in Nigeria.
